Internship Title
Hoosier Village is a nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Zionsville, Indiana, offering a full continuum of services for older adults. During my internship in the Activities Department, I supported resident engagement by helping plan and facilitate daily programs that promote social connection, cognitive stimulation, and overall well‑being. My role allowed me to work directly with residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility while contributing to a positive, meaningful activity environment.
Primary Responsibilities and Projects

Focused on increasing activity attendance within the Skilled Nursing Facility by analyzing participation trends and identifying barriers to engagement.

Personally invited residents to activities through one‑on‑one interactions to encourage participation and build rapport.

Assisted with setting up, facilitating, and cleaning up daily programs and special events such as Bingo, painting, fitness classes, etc.

Tracked attendance data and shared insights with the Activities Director to guide schedule improvements and used these to report to the nursing staff.

Collaborated with staff to create a positive, inclusive environment that supported meaningful resident engagement.
