Internship Reflection
End of Semester/Internship Reflection
Looking back on my internship and capstone, I realize how much both experiences helped me grow as a future health services professional. At Hoosier Village, I was able to use what I learned in class in a real senior living setting, especially during my project to boost activity attendance in the Skilled Nursing Facility. I learned to take initiative, work with people from different backgrounds, and adjust programs to fit residents’ needs. These skills made me more confident and better at solving problems. My capstone built on this by pushing me to think more strategically, look at what the organization needed, and connect my studies to real issues in healthcare. Together, these experiences showed me the value of good leadership, focusing on residents, and making decisions based on data. They also confirmed that I want to build my career in health services management.
